Kukup beaches are white sand beaches are located in areas south of Yogyakarta, precisely at the village Kemadang, Tanjungsari. This beach is located about 40 km from the city of Yogyakarta. This is regarded as one of a series of beaches in the south besides Baron Beach, Krakal Beach, Beach Sundak, Wedi Ombo Beach and others. They each have the same characteristics other than their location, which is owned by white sand. It is believed that the white sand beach south are the remains of rock fragments and pieces of animal skin and shellfishes.
Kukup Beach known for its varieties of fish and marine animals, including rare marine life such as green turtles. On the east coast, there are rocks which are connected by bridges. From here you can enjoy beautiful panoramic views of sea and mountains that surround the beach. Rocks and stones like a cave, which shelters the ornamental fish and plants, around the coast is also a feature that can be used to accompany your photo or activities on the beach.
Other facilities of interest here is the fish market that sells fruit fish caught by local residents from the area. To complete the facility, there is also a seafood restaurant where you can have your fish purchased from the market cooked with spices that you want. Kukup Beach is also host to a traditional ceremony that is conducted every month Suro.
